CEENTAA aims to create a space for critical reflection, experimentation and joint action that stimulates the integration of art, as a dimension of human life, with agriculture. By bringing us closer to Nature, agriculture emerges as a device capable of establishing equality and wandering, providing experiences that influence the ways of thinking about programming and artistic creation. A cultural and artistic program is presented to serve the local community and designed based on the collaboration of specialist artists in residence.
The Project
It is a project of recognition and approximation to Nature, in its complexity, through the integration of artistic practices with models of regenerative agriculture, namely agroforestry. The project provides a space for critical reflection, experimentation and action that follows two complementary axes:
1) a cultural and artistic program of community involvement — which develops critical, environmental and agricultural reflection —, taking different forms and to which professionals from different areas of knowledge are invited to work and think in depth on the themes to be explored;
2) a model of artistic residencies that aims to encourage a slowdown and counter the institutionalized logic of artistic creation, privileging the process as a result of being in fullness. It is proposed that this experience be made by connecting to Nature through agriculture, enabling a synchronicity with it that requires a slowdown and allows forms of understanding and aesthetic experience more connected to reality and unpredictability.
Agroforestry emerges as a vehicle for the creation of a common space where joint experiences, the exchange of knowledge, and the revival of bonds of affection and cooperation typical of a community can germinate, enriched by the presence of art and critical thinking.
THE TEAM
CEENTAA has a horizontal structure in which the core team – composed of a teacher and producer/programmer, joined by an artist and a curator in long-term residency – ensures the needs of the project in an organic way and shares the artistic direction.
A broader team is invited to contribute to thinking about the programming and creation of agroforestry, in which the intensity of each person's involvement responds to an individual and voluntary choice.
