
Graça Passos
Graça Passos (Faro). Holds a degree in Biology, educational branch, at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon. She taught in Lisbon and Vila Velha de Ródão (1993/2014), to where she moved in 1993. She has been doing cultural production since 1978. In Lisbon she worked with Teatro Emarginato and Galeria Monumental/Bertrand of which she was director. She directed CENTA (Center for the Study of New Artistic Tendencies) – a professional structure for artistic residencies (1989/2009) where she produced and created numerous projects, including: Lisboa Fora de Horas (1995); Continuing Artistic Training Project for the 1st Cycle (2003 to 2008). Since 2009, she has produced and created several projects, including: the exhibition In search of another body (2014, São Brás de Alportel); Picnic — if leaves take root, words can create muscles (Lisbon, Festival Pedras’19 and São Brás de Alportel). She participated in the creation of the Network of Cultural Centers and the Association of Cultural Programmers, now extinct, and of REDE - Association of Structures for Contemporary Dance, which she directed between 2003 and 2006.
In the area of environment/agriculture, she was active in several associations/movements: Agrobio - Portuguese Association of Biological Agriculture (1990s); Platform No to the Transatlantic Treaty (TTIP) that gave rise to the current EXCHANGE (2015/17); and PALP - Algarve Livre de Petróleo Platform, as a member of Tavira in Transition (2016/19). She is currently a member of Coopérnico and actively collaborates in Rede Para o Decrescimento; PTF – Plataforma Trangénicos Fora and Quercus, where she presides over the Castelo Branco nucleus. She has training in Organic Agriculture and Agroforestry. She is a member of the Tejo Internacional commission.
